BPC-157 in Research: What the Literature Shows

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide — a chain of fifteen amino acids — modeled on a protective protein sequence identified in human gastric juice. Since its identification, it has become one of the most frequently referenced peptides in tissue-repair research, cited across a growing body of preclinical literature.
Proposed Mechanisms
Much of the research interest centers on BPC-157's interaction with angiogenic signaling pathways, including upregulation of VEGFR2 expression — a receptor central to new blood vessel formation. Researchers have also examined its interactions with growth hormone receptor pathways and nitric oxide signaling, both of which are implicated in tissue remodeling.
What Preclinical Studies Have Explored
The majority of published research on BPC-157 comes from in vivo animal models and in vitro cell studies, most commonly examining tendon and ligament healing, gastrointestinal lining integrity, and models of induced tissue injury. As with most research peptides at this stage, findings from animal and cell-culture models do not necessarily translate directly to humans, and BPC-157 has not been evaluated or approved by the FDA for any therapeutic use.

Like most lyophilized peptides, BPC-157 is sensitive to heat, light, and moisture. Researchers typically reconstitute with bacteriostatic water immediately before use and store reconstituted solution refrigerated, discarding it per standard peptide stability guidance. Replacements only for quality degradation. If a peptide is confirmed to have degraded in quality, we will provide a replacement, subject to our review.
Pre-shipment photo on request. You may request a photo of your order before it ships to verify contents.
Shipping damage is not covered. Any damage to outer packaging that occurs in transit is not our responsibility and does not by itself qualify for a replacement.
